3 Tips for a Creative Outfit

OOTD:

Striped top, jean leggings, grey boots, belt, and scarf.

Ever notice how some people can just throw clothes on a instantly look put together?  Don't you just envy them?  I know I do!  But for those of us who are insta-outfit impaired, there are a few tips we can utilize.

TIP #1 USE THE COLOR WHEEL.

Complimentary:
Complimentary colors are colors opposite of each other on the color wheel.  Red - Green, Violet - Yellow, Blue - Orange, etc.

Blue and Orange are complimentary colors.

Analogous:
Analogous colors are three touching colors.  Blue - Blue Violet - Violet, Yellow - Yellow Orange - Yellow Green, etc.  It's basically 3 hues in the same color family.

Red slacks, Red Violet top, Violet purse.  This is my FAVORITE color scheme. :)

Triadic:
Triadic colors are 3 evenly spaced colors.  Red - Blue - Yellow, Green - Purple - Orange.

Yellow, Green, and Purple.  Beautifully achieved!

Monochromatic:
Monochromatic colors are shades (meaning light and dark variations) of the same color.

TIP #2 ADD COLOR, PATTERN, TEXTURE AND SHINE.

Thank you Stacy and Clinton!

You don't have to have all of these element in an outfit, but having 2-3 of them will really add interest to an outfit.  Scarves and, of course, JEWELRY are great ways to add these 4 elements!

TIP #3 HAVE A BOLD SIGNATURE ACCESSORY.

Whether it's a scarf in a pattern or bold color, a chunky turquoise necklace, or eye-catching earrings or bracelet, try to have 1 accessory that you can just throw on and go.  A lot of times we don't have the time to labor over decisions so it's nice to have something we can fall back on.

Well, loves, I hope these tips were helpful.  How do you come up with a creative outfit?  Are you one of those girls for whom it comes naturally?  Or do you have system in which you do things?  Leave a comment below and let us know!  I love it when we share ideas!
